Some people explore home-based offline businesses. This move can be risky if you don't know what you're doing. There are lots of scams out there, so buyer beware.

But some work at home ideas along this line that you could think about might include starting some type of service business, like an office cleaning service, medical billing data entry, massage therapy, network marketing, etc.

There are so many ways to go with this, it's hard to list them all. But if you decide to go this direction, do your research and be careful about investing large sums of money.

More and more people today are starting their own web-based, or online, home businesses. I think this is a great way to supplement your income. and maybe even replace it completely down the road! The kind of online home business I started was building content-based websites (like this one). The idea is to build a site around a topic you have an interest in or are knowledgeable about and then "monetize" it by selling advertising space on the pages or by selling related products (either your own or other people's). I've used all those methods and they all work.

There are other types of online home businesses too, including auction selling (like eBay), blogging for profit, affiliate marketing and more. Again, though, beware of people who tell you can make money easily, with very little work. Sure, it happens that way for a few lucky people, but most of us have to put in the time and effort to start making a profit. just like you do with an offline business.

Working from home in your own business is a dream for so many people, and many of us have actually managed to make that come true. Many of us have found it to be so much fun and so lucrative that we've even been able to give up our traditional jobs. Is that your dream too?

Due to enhanced technology and the ever-increasing presence of the internet, work at home jobs now exist in abundance. This means that you will need to keep track of billing, invoices, and expenses. Often it may seem that there are simply not enough hours in the day, but it is critical that you take the time to clean the house, walk the dog, spend time with your family, and get plenty of sleep. Remember that you made this leap to enhance your life. When the workday is done, simple close your office door and take part in those activities you enjoy.

I need unique ideas on how I can earn extra income from home. I live so far out in the country that I have been unable to get any babysitting, tutoring, sewing, or mending clients. I have 3 young children that I can't leave home alone, so working in town is not an option - childcare would cost more than I would earn.

I am certainly not spouting perfect here. I've made mistakes along the way as well. Sometimes I have been so anxious I've written some stupid things in my cover letter. So I speak from experience.
