Jobs for moms are becoming common place because of the internet. More and more moms are staying home! I say, Good For Them!
I've been a full time stay at home mom for over three years now and love it. Sure I miss my old job as a disc jockey at the local rock radio station, but the trade off was worth it.
When most moms decide to stay home, it's a tough, bittersweet decision. They lose part of their identity, their wages or salary and the fulfillment that the job they had gave them.
Of course they gain time with their kids, no stress of a commute, the cost of daycare…. definite perks.
Losing the income though, can be detrimental the family finances. No one wants to have the pressure of that.
Jobs for Stay at Home Moms In High Demand
Jobs for at home moms are becoming more and more in demand. Direct sales companies are booming and many moms are taking that route to provide a supplemental income for their families.

Writing Jobs for Moms
If you've always wanted to be a writer or have had experience being a writer, then a lot more options open up.
Everything from writing descriptions for city guide type sites to articles for magazines are possibilities. I've actually had jobs as a board and chat room moderator, city guide and copy writer ALL from home. MY persistence in looking paid off. Be sure to check out my online jobs list each day. I post jobs there almost every day. I just kept at it and was ready with resume and continuing education. I never once thought a job would just land in my lap. I knew it would take time and effort on my part.
Try not to get discouraged. I know this easy said than done. But jobs at home are just like jobs anywhere else. You simply cannot email someone and say… I need a job and I think I could do this one. Yes I have seen emails like that. NO resume, no experience…..do NOT do that. Nor do I think emailing a potential employer saying…. I really need the money because I can't even afford diapers is a good approach. And yes….I've seen emails like that too as a response to actual job postings. You would not walk into a business to answer an employment ad and say…. I want this job ‘cuz I need the money would you??
I am certainly not spouting perfect here. I've made mistakes along the way as well. Sometimes I have been so anxious I've written some stupid things in my cover letter. So I speak from experience. Slowly I learned that the stay at home jobs for moms go QUICK, and I need to be professional and prepared. I give this advice after being in the trenches.
Jobs for Moms: Work at Home Issues To Think About
Be sure your family budget can TRULY survive without your income. Staying within your budget and avoiding those nickel and dime expenditures that eat at it like gourmet coffees, lunches out and knick-knacks can help you keep tight reigns on your money. Make sure you have a budget prepared and stick with it.
My first year at home was a nightmare because I did not plan well. I thought…this jobs for stay at home moms crap is NOT turning out like I planned. (To say the least!) We ended up having to pull equity out of our home to survive. This is NOT a recommended or fun option to utilize. It took me over a year to make any money. So be ready for a long haul when looking for something that actually provides the extra money that you need.
I'm a firm believer in coupons, freebies and sales. I also whole-heartedly believe in second hand stores. Find a good one that offers reasonable prices, gently-used clothing and clean toys. I cannot begin to tell you how much I have saved in toys alone at these type stores. Not to mention I take my old things in there and sell on consignment. Finding a local store is best, and they are everywhere.

In the end if you do find something….know how you will tackle your new job with kids at foot. Thinking about those things now will ensure a smooth transition and less stress for you and a job well done for your employer.
Keep surfing, keep clicking….keep perusing the local paper and all the latest direct sales companies. Eventually something will turn up that fits you, your family and your finances. Until then…. don't lose faith.
