Quick Money-Making Ideas for Writing

Oddly enough, you don’t have to be a writer or published author – or even a whiz at grammar – to make money writing online. There are multiple websites available that offer amateur writers upfront payment or performance earnings based on the quality and popularity of their articles.

Here’s how it works with these quick money-making ideas. Let’s say you sign up at a company like Associated Content, which pays up front and performance earnings for your articles. You don’t need any prior approval, but you do need to abide by their guidelines for word count, keyword density and subject matter. An editor will take a look at any article you submit and determine if it is worthy for upfront payment. If it is, you will be paid for the article and then earn performance revenue for the views it receives once it is published.

Quick Money-Making Ideas for Other Digital Media

The quick money-making ideas mentioned above are highly popular and also somewhat competitive. If you would like to contend with less competition – and do something besides write articles – you might check out a place like Fiverr. com. This website lets you offer almost any service for five dollars. They’ll take a cut, naturally, but you get to keep most of what you make.

So what do you offer on Fiverr? Some gigs advertise professional-sounding voiceovers for five dollars per 30 seconds. Others offer a picture of themselves holding a drawing of a company logo for a company’s website or brochure. Still others offer Skype lessons for music or foreign language learning. If you have a short eBook to sell, you can offer copies of your eBook for a flat fee and send your buyers a link to the download. This basically means no extra work on your part and gives you a highly trafficked avenue on which to promote your eBook, besides.

Finding easy money-making ideas online is sometimes difficult, as some sites are total scams. Before signing up, check out the site’s reputation on forums and see what others have to say about it. But don’t let a few bad apples ruin the whole bunch; there are plenty of quick money-making ideas to choose from.

How to Make Money Writing Articles Online

Are you a skilled writer? Do you have passion for writing and you want to learn how to make money writing articles online for magazines. blogs and newspaper sites? Then I advice you read on .

A few years ago, a 16 year old boy with a passion for writing took to the computer; in a cyber café to put his writing skills to use. He never knew what he was doing, neither did he know the potential of what he started. He just wrote for clients for little or no cost because he loves doing it.

365days later, this young boy was making a cool $5,000+ monthly working alone. Today, he has a team of six writers and should be making an estimated $10,000 monthly. Not bad for a young lad who started out as a novice. And for the records, that name of this young man is OniBalusi Bamidele ; the publisher of WritersinCharge. com

Okay, that aside. Do you know how much I pay the writers (both in-house and independent contractors ) to research and publish the information you read every day on this blog. Well, it is against my personal ethics to spit out figures but I sure spend a chunk of money daily / monthly to keep this blog up and running.

Now the essence of the realistic illustrations above is to help open your eyes to the potential that lies on the internet especially for writers and this opportunity is increasing every day.

As Google and other search engines keep hitting hard on crappy content through their periodic updates, bloggers, magazine and e-zine publishers, website owners, and other internet marketers are becoming more aware of the importance of quality content. How to Make Money Writing Articles Online – A Beginner’s Guide

1. Gather your resources

To work as a freelance writer, you will need to have your own PC, a reliable internet connection, and some time to spare. You will use your PC for writing articles and other pieces as required by clients. With a reliable internet connection, you will be able to communicate with clients, submit completed articles, and conduct research before or during your writing tasks.

And you will need at least 3-4 hours of your day for handling writing assignments. You may not spend up to that when you are just starting, but the time you will need will increase with time as you attract more clients and land more writing assignments. If you don't have any of these three resources, you will find it hard to start your freelance writing career smoothly.

2. Write and publish some samples

Virtually all clients will request to see samples of your writing before hiring you. If you don't have any samples to show, you won't get clients easily. So, try to write at least five sample articles on any topics of your choice. Most preferably, write on topics that will be of interest to most clients, such as “how to increase blog traffic quickly,” or “how to hire the right freelance writer.” You are free to write on any topic.

In order to add credibility to your written samples, try to upload them on article directories or on a simple blog. If you show unpublished samples, most clients may doubt if they were really written by you. But by sending them links to published samples that reflect your name as the author, your clients won't doubt the authorship.

3. Start hunting for clients and marketing your services

No one would hire your article writing services if they don't know you have the skills. So, you will need to spend a lot of time on trying to attract clients and promoting your article writing services.

One of the ways you can attract clients is to register with freelance outsourcing sites like Elance and Freelancer. These websites connect clients with freelancers with various skills, including article writing. The challenging part of working with these sites is that you will need to compete with others to get writing projects.

And whether you will win these projects or not will depend on many factors such as your bid price, your skills (as shown in your samples ), the number of projects you have handled successfully (a disadvantage for newbies ), nationality, and so on. However, once you start winning projects, chances are that you will keep winning more of them. Alternatively, you can set up your article writing gigs on sites like Fiverr, where you get paid a specific price for each article you write for clients.

You can also get writing assignments by registering with content mills such as TextBroker and iWriter. You will be able to choose from a large pool of freelance writing assignments, complete and submit them, and get paid.

Other ways to promote your article writing services include telling your Facebook friends and Twitter followers. You can also market your services on forums and online communities such as WarriorForum, NairaLand, etc.

4. Work hard to retain your clients

If you are really keen to make a full-time income from freelance writing, you will need to retain your clients as they come. There’s only one way to make this happen and that is to satisfy them with your services.

Keeping your clients satisfied requires more than writing stellar articles. It also requires meeting deadlines, showing concern about their business, communicating effectively with them and responding quickly to their mails and calls, being willing to effect changes when demanded by clients, being ready to address client complaints and adjust as necessary, and so on.

Although there are much more tips to learn about making money by writing articles online, this post has covered all the basics you need to know and implement. If you follow the steps explained so far, you will be able to kick-start a successful article-writing career.

8. Write articles on eHow. com

If you understand the basics of keyword research, you can make a good monthly income from eHow. eHow pays you a percentage of the ad revenue they make from each How to article you create. You can crank out a few articles a day with relative ease. Try this for a month; assuming your article titles match up with what people are searching for in Google, you can make a significant income. The great news is that you write your articles once and get paid month after month. I've seen figures of $100-$150/month for 30 articles. Make money writing for eHow. com.

Make Money Writing Articles Online

Writing articles online is one of my main sources of side income. In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to make some extra cash on the side if you enjoy writing. How much you can make with these sites depends on how much time you have to spend on writing and how much work is available. The following sites are a few sites I have personally used and had success with.

Textbroker Textbroker is a writing site that has been around for a long time. If you have the time to devote to Textbroker. you can make a significant amount of money. I have actually made nearly $500 in one week with this site. This is rare but it is possible. When first signing up, you will be asked to submit a writing sample. Your writing sample will then be reviewed and you will be placed at a writing level. Most people start at Level 3 but if you are consistent, you can move up to the next level. One aspect I like about this site is that you can apply to Casting Calls and once accepted, you can complete what is called Team Orders . Team Orders typically pay much higher than open orders, allowing you to earn more money and have more work available to you. Most team orders require a writer to be at level 4, but some teams do accept level 3 writers. Textbroker pays via Paypal.

Writer Access Writer Access is a site that typically doesn't have a lot of work available but when there is work, it usually pays well. One aspect I don't like about this site is that claiming the work at Writer Access is rather competitive. If you constantly check throughout the day, you are bound to be able to grab an article or two. One aspect I do like about this site is that they also have casting calls that you can apply for. This is basically a way to show a client that you are a good fit for writing their article. Writer Access pays via Paypal.

iWriter iWriter is the first writing site I ever signed up for. This was before I discovered the better writing sites like Textbroker and Writer Access. If you are desperate for cash, then by all means, sign up. Like Textbroker, there are different writing levels. The higher the level, the better the pay. While the lowest level does pay peanuts, the higher levels pay significantly well if you can ever get there. The clients requesting the articles are the ones that rate your articles and can ultimately make or break you at this site. A 5 star rating can help you reach the next level but a 1 star review can negatively affect your writing rating in a significant way. iWriter pays via Paypal.

Earn Free Cash

Try Swagbucks, the famous rewards program that pays you for watching videos, taking surveys, shopping and more.

The two factors that determine your compensation will be the quality of your article, and of course, the terms on offer from the hiring party.

For the purpose of this article, I have compiled the different sites and techniques I have used throughout the years to earn extra money on the side writing articles online.

These should work just as nicely for you as they had been for me.

How These Sites Pay

Some sites pay you instantly after they get your submission, and some will pay you based on the performance of your article when it goes live.

Each of these options has its own pros and cons, but they both require effort and commitment on your part.

Let me explain both of these options a little more…

I'll explain both in more detail.

1. Upfront Payment

The more interesting option for me is the so-called Upfront Payment.

This is an arrangement where the website your write for pays you once you submit the article and they accept it.

Since this is a prepayment arrangement, how your written article going to fare in the search engine rankings or how many page views your work is going to help generate would not influence the payment. In short, there is no string attached upon submission of the agreed articles.

2. Performance Payment

The first option for getting paid as a writer is through what's known as the Performance Payment.

As the name suggests, the amount of money you earn from each article varies based on how it performs, or more precisely, how much traffic it gets.

With performance payment which is also known as revenue sharing, earning comes from ads and affiliate links placed throughout the page where the article resides. The total earning is then split (usually 50/50) between the host site and you (the writer).

Can You Make Money Writing Novels?

The answer, of course, is yes. Not only can you make money writing novels, you can make a lot of it.

Look at J. K. Rowling and her Harry Potter books. Look at writers like Stephen King and John Grisham. Or look at hugely successful indie authors like Mark Dawson.

I have no idea how much these people earn from their fiction writing, but I'd be willing to bet they don't have to do their own housework. And there is no reason why anyone reading this couldn't become just as successful.

And here's the best news of all.
