How to be rich? Work on your goals and your commitment to them

Put on your thinking cap, create your passive income, and live in clover!

Way # 13: Friends, stop whining and complaining about life.

Your dissatisfaction is only your fault.

If you don’t have money, then fuel your energy generator and start your business. Figure out your problems, think of their solutions, and act!

Also convert the most successful conclusions into business plans and sell them!

Way # 14: How to get rich? It’s easy!

Poor surroundings almost always drag you to poverty.

Even the richest people aren’t deprived of relatives, friends, or other supplicants who, when not beaten off properly, will soon make your treasury empty.

Communicate with Victors and Optimists.

Yes, exactly big “V” Victors and big “O” Optimists!

Way # 15: If money is on your agenda, bring something valuable to the market and people will bring you money.

And the sum will depend on your ability to convince others when describing the advantages of your invention.

Way # 16: And finally, in order to become rich. start a diary of your small victories!

Losses and failures stay in mind 10 times longer than victories and success.

If you lose heart, read your diary!

And my final piece of advice.

Never, never, never give up! Any enemy – and poverty is every man’s foe – must be fought till the end. And don’t allow any pity either for your adversary or for yourself!

How to REALLY make money from a website

As much as I tell people to seriously reconsider buying too much into the hardcore Make Money Online hype, I can not argue against its allure and the fact that, well, people DO make money online.

The problem is, there are the usual caveats:

It's not fast. It's not easy. You WILL encounter problems and tough challenges. You might not always enjoy it.

These are challenges facing Roman who asked me for a blog critique. He has been building a site all about his experience of creating a website that makes money called How this website makes money (how meta). Problem is, while he is getting some pretty OK traffic, it isn't making him much money.

Roman shows how his website works

Kind of important for a site about making money with websites to make money, right?

It would be remiss of me at this point to ignore another challenge that would face many people …

People might well say hurtful things, some of whom will be random internet strangers.

I would like to keep the conversation constructive. When you are considering what to write in the comments, please keep this in mind, ok? 🙂

Making Money with Websites is Hard

We have established that most people who set out to make money at anything will have a hard time. Most businesses fail, just a fact of life. What fail means in reality is a lot of people give up, a lot of people start multiple business and focus on the successful ones, and so on. I have a whole bunch of abandoned sites and domains just waiting for when I have time . But suffice to say, it's not a certain or easy thing by any means.

Looking down that list above (which is not anywhere near exhaustive) and hearing this might well put you off.

At the very least it doesn't seem as glamourous now, does it? But if you are still interested in learning about how to turn a website profitable, despite how hard it can be, then read on.

Still here? OK, I did mention that some people manage it … So how do you REALLY make money from a website?

Two Types of Websites that Make Money

There are two main types of website that make money.

A business that is marketed online. A magazine or media business.

Mine is the former. I have a consulting, training and coaching business, and I mainly market that business via a website and other online channels. Another example would be Copyblogger Media. In fact, I would say now Copyblogger Media is a software business, but that is a discussion for another time 🙂 A business sells products and services, the content is a way of attracting people and retaining their interest.

Examples of the second category would be the stereotypical blog any of the gadget and tech blogs, such as Techcrunch, Gizmodo, et al. Your news sites. They use advertising (and maybe affiliate links), and therefore are monetized media and eyeballs, clicks and page impressions.

Sites do not have to stay rigidly in one form versus another, but you do need to know your business model or at least the direction you are headed. Take Darren's Digital Photography School. It started out magazine style, quickly turned into a community, and now sells information products.

For sure there are other models of profitable site that work, but for the most part these two categories are the ones that work for more people.

Back to the Critique

Roman's business plan appears to be as follows:

Use the site as it's own case study. Report on the progress, metrics and tactics used. Make money via hosting and domain reselling/affiliate, and some Adsense.

So far, at the time of writing, he has achieved the below milestones:

Milestones at "How this Website Makes Money"

Which business model would you guess Roman is following?

Yes, I would say Roman is following the Magazine format, and he is facing the classic challenges of that format.

Challenges of the Media/Magazine Website Format

While there are nice benefits to the magazine style format, there are several challenges too.

On the one hand, it seems like you can put most of your effort into what you do best and what you most enjoy, such as writing, engaging with your audience, and so on. You can make your own hours, or even not work at all. Some might even suggest you can make money with zero effort once the hard work is done set it and forget it. And that is all true, for some, and for a varying amount of time.

It's not necessarily true for you. though.

What becomes immediately obvious to anyone who has tried this approach is you need a LOT of traffic. Much more than what Roman is getting.

Adsense does not pay very well in all but a tiny number of high competition niches, so you need a heck of a lot of clicks, and that means a great deal of traffic and you need your ads to be very in your face (perhaps to the point of being obnoxious).

If you are going to be an affiliate or reseller for a commodity like domains and hosting, again you are going to need a great deal of traffic. If that commodity does not have an already in demand brand name that you can rank in search for (especially for the purchasing type phrases, such as [Brand] Review or Buy [Brand] , then expect to need an eye-watering amount of traffic.

Relying on search traffic? You are also going to need a design that drives as many people towards clicks or purchases as possible. Blogs are made for browsing and ooh shiny , not pushing people down tracks that end up at conversions.

It can be done, but there is an alternative …

A Different Model

The good news is, while Roman has been struggling, he is actually in a pretty good shape.

His intentions and approach are not necessarily wrong, but I think his business model does not match his tactics, or at least implementation of them.

We had a brief discussion in email and he said he was wary of being too out there in terms of engaging his community, social media, public speaking, and so on. While all those things definitely do help, it's not the only way.

What Roman needs is to improve in four areas:

Targeting. Retention. Conversion. Sharing.

Audience Targeting

Right now, Roman's hook is kind of self-referential. It's all about Roman's site. OK, there is the aspect of the reader learns by example , but the big flashing neon message subconsciously says This is me doing my thing, come admire it 🙂

The you can too aspect is let down by the lack of any proof right now it is a case study in NOT making money, right? But that can be turned around by first focusing on what you CAN teach credibly (creating and maintaining a website under your own personalised domain that attracts traffic) and after making some money, you can return to the making money aspect.

Your hook is a promise. If you are not delivering on what people think you are promising then you will not get very far. Make a promise you can keep.

What does this have to do with audience targeting? Right now Roman is attracting people he can't help very much. He needs to attract people he can help.

And actually there is content there that will help them. It might need to be packaged and promoted differently, but Roman has the experience and knowledge to help anyone who is having trouble building a website. Don't overlook that I get questions every day from people confused with domains, hosting and FTP all things Roman knows well.

The best place to be is to find an audience with a self-identified problem that you can solve (profitably).

OK, they might not all be ready to buy quite yet, which brings us on to the next part.

Retention

When you have something to sell you have two choices. First you can try to make the sale right now, which is tough. The second option is easier, keep them interested until they are ready.

Retain the audience you manage to attract and keep them warm. Get people onto a list.

Let's see how you can do that with some examples:

This is it. You have finally found the website you are looking for . You have been browsing the web looking for real information on how to make money on the web but you always run into these websites that sound great yet deliver nothing. They pitch you a big hype and then you get to the bottom of the page to realize you haven't really learned anything; but you can learn it all by buying their "Fantastic Amazing ebook that tells you all the secrets of how to get rich on the internet".

Return Visitor? And looking for any new pages? They are listed at the top of the column on the left.

Does all the stuff on this website work? Yes it does and here is the proof: I own the website epic-fantasy. com and if you do a search with google of "Epic Fantasy" that website comes up on the first page. Not too shabby. (Note: This has changed: as of Nov 20, My site now is ranked #1 for this term. And March 13, 07 still number one :) - Update: May 18, 07 - Still number one, April 24, 08 Still number1:) And of course this is just an example keyword, I have accomplished this feat with many other terms.

If I were making loads of money on the internet I wouldn't be selling a book on how to make loads of money on the internet. That seems to be the way it is done. They make money on the internet by selling you a book on how to make money on the internet. There is something about that approach that doesn't sit well with me and I won't do it here. You will not get to the bottom of this page, or any other page on this site, and discover that you will learn all my secrets by buying an ebook. It just won't happen.

So what is this all about?

Already have some abilities with website building? Go to my quick list of books you can buy or my list of free affiliate programs you can sign up for.

Just like you have probably done, I have spent way too many hours scouring the internet for information on how to make a living with a website (or at least make some money) and sites like that are hard to come by. So I have decided to create the site myself and this is it.

I have owned several websites for years now and I have done a lot of work and made a lot of mistakes and I am going to show you how you can do it. My websites are making money and your website can make you money too.

(Take a look at the wayback machine and see how long I have owned and operated websites. This is my first website and it dates back to: May of 2002. So I have owned a legitimate website for five years now. I actually owned this site longer than that; The wayback machine only picked it up then. As of the writing of this tutorial I now own four domain names with many sub sites and thousands of pages of content packed information).

So What's the benefit to me?

I also have partnerships with companies like Amazon. com, Google, Allposters. com, Art. com, Postersupply. com, sideshowtoy. com, Overstock. com, Genericgifts. com, Magazineline. com, Musicnotes. com, The Franklin Mint, Netflix, Barnes Noble, and Simply Audio Books.

Whenever somebody goes to one of my websites and buys something from one of these companies I get paid a percentage. Can you see how I can make money with this? I am going to teach you how to do it too. And you know what? Every single one of these companies is free to partner with. It won't cost you a penny.

You have stuck with quite a bit of talk and that means you are persistent. Great! Persistence is one of the qualities you will need to get the money making ball rolling!

So now let me get to the point of this discussion and tell you exactly what you need to do to make money with a website:

You are going to pick a topic, subject, hobby or field that you are really interested in and you are going to make a website about that. Then you are going to post a lot of interesting stuff about the topic on your website. You will become a bit of an expert on this topic.

There are thousands of people that are also interested in this same topic and they will find your website. This is what the web does. It constantly searches for interesting stuff about topics. The internet, the search engines and people are hungry for information about every conceivable topic and if your site is interesting they will find it and you will make money.

But here's the kicker and the bonus. This website is about something that you love, or at least enjoy. You are going to make money doing something that you enjoy! Beats the heck out of working a job that you hate doesn't it?

So if you are ready to get started you should roll up your sleeves, get a notebook so you can take notes, and continue on to my tutorial. In no time at all you will have a website up and running and you will be making money.

One more thing before you get started: Here's my philosophy about spending money. My goal is to get you to first make some money before you spend any money at all. Everything I teach you will be free. You won't have to spend a dime. Once you start making a little money then you can spend some money to make more money. But until those first checks roll in you can keep your wallet closed. You won't need it.

Work From Home Scams

Scambusters. org describes work from Home scams as Having you work from home, doing envelope stuffing, craft assembly, or other tasks where you are (supposedly) paid by a company as an employee. There are certainly some legitimate telecommuting jobs, but work-from-home jobs are often just big scams.

If you have some work from home business ideas, you definitely need to do some research before you dive right in. You do not want to get burned. I have talked many times about online scams and you can review them by clicking the Online Scams drop down menu at the top of this page.

When I was getting near retirement, I started looking at the Internet as an avenue to creating some additional income and being my own boss while I enjoyed my retirement. As I looked at the different offers I was getting by email and while surfing, the majority of them asked….

Want to earn thousands of dollars a month working from home?

Earn a great monthly income working two hours a day!

Got some spare time? We show you how to get rich working at home!

If you have been online for any length of time I am sure you have seen many of them. Some sound like they might be attainable and others if you just use your common sense are just hype and a lot of BS!

So I am repeating what my advice has been for the last twenty years. Check them out before you do anything, do your research and if you can contact someone that has been involved with the business. It will save you a lot of headaches.

Donald Trump's advice - how to get rich

Billionaire Donald Trump gave 10 tips for those who want to get rich. This businessman owned billions in the 1980s has lost all his fortune, but soon again became a rich man. Now its capital is estimated at $ 3 billion. In his book "Trump. How to get rich "entrepreneur, based on his own life experience, gives novice businessmen are 10 tips on how to earn the first billion:

1. Dress in accordance with its social and cultural status

Over the years, Trump has figured out what to wear cheap clothes - absolutely not correct. You can certainly buy something inexpensive (after all, no one will know the price), but it is something that will look exactly as much as he paid for.

"Clothing says a lot about us even before we open the mouth" - says Donald.

2. Provoke others

A good way to appreciate those who are sitting with you at the negotiating table - a provocative voice, elaborate phrases. By the reaction of the interlocutor can easily understand what he is like.

3. Be your own financial expert

Trump believes that it is not necessary to hire a financial advisor, as there are many cases where these "professionals" led to the crash. It is better to learn yourself by reading the information on the pages of business magazines.

4. Learn how to stand up for themselves

"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", - stated in the Old Testament. If you are under pressure - the same answer if the insult - the attackers. Do not trust anyone, even to a close friend - he at any time may encroach on your wife and money.

5. Care for your hair

Billionaire is often criticized for the fact that he often combed, but he believes it is very important.

6. Avoid shaking hands

A firm handshake could be the cause of infections. It is necessary to avoid them, because you need good health!

7. Listen to intuition and instinct obey

How much would you have any diploma, try to listen to your inner voice. Often, there are subtle signs that you need or do not need to make a deal and meet with certain people.

8. Be optimistic and ready to failure

Should always be optimistic, but at the same time be prepared for any problems and falls. This will keep the internal energy and save you from unpleasant surprises.

How to Get Rich Slow

If you are serious about finding a way to take your income to the next level, stop looking for shortcuts. Because there aren't any.

Instead, spend your time researching various types of business models from a business and marketing perspective.

Forget they hype and look for the substance, the WHY the business will work if you work it.

This is especially true when it comes to building an internet business. Because, just like any real-world brick-n-mortar business, getting rich online requires a solid business plan. A plan that is very specific about how you intend to MARKET and PROMOTE the business, the costs involved, fulfillment issues and more.

Anyone who offers to sell you a legitimate business opportunities should give you detailed information. So be very skeptical of any promoter who offers vague descriptions of what the business is and how it will work. Get real. Sit down, put on your thinking cap and ask yourself some critical business-oriented questions, like:

What product, service or business opportunity will you be selling? Is there a market for what you intend to be selling? Would the average person on the street pay those prices, for that product, in today's market? HOW do you intend to sell, marketing and promote the product? How and why will prospective prospects, shoppers and clients would find and use your website? How will the business generate a profit and what, specifically are your expenses?

Answering these questions BEFORE you fork over your hard-earned money is critical because you absolutely MUST begin with the end in mind or you risk buying into a yet another deal… without any clue how to turn that deal into a profitable business.

Just because something is on the internet does not mean it comes with an EASY BUTTON.

Just because something comes with a fancy website does not mean it is a legitimate answer to the how to get quick question.

A better question might be:

How will YOU get people to visit the web site? How much will it cost to drive targeted traffic your store? How many visits will it take to generate one lead and how many leads will it take to make one sale? What will be your average cost of sale?

I'll Show You How To Get Rich

These common advertisements revolve around an expert who is willing to share their secrets on how they became an almost overnight millionaire working from the comfort of their home. Sounds good, but the truth is that these are little more than multilevel marketing scams. You will receive an information packet or other product that shares the experts secrets, but only after you have paid $20 or more to purchase it. For the expert this is great because you just made them richer. In the end, all you will receive is nothing more than instructions on how to make up your own information product similar to the one you just purchased and then sell it to other people.

Get Rich Quick Schemes that Work

Seriously? We are NOT still having this conversation, are we?!

Let's take a quick look at some of the more popular how to make money fast models out there, dig a bit deeper and expose them for what they really are.

John Beck's Free Clear Real Estate System classic get rich in real estate system. Every few years these pop up and promise to help millions make millions without credit, money or experience. Buy real estate for pennies on the dollar and make a fortune overnight GUARANTEED!

Aug 23 (Reuters) A U. S. judge has issued a $478 million judgment against the marketers of a series of get-rich-quick real estate infomercials [John Beck's System] that the FTC said duped almost a million consumers with their claims.

ZeekRewards. com money for nothing and your chips for free! This program promised to pay an outrageous return on investment for selling bid token back to the company (who then supposedly sold them to consumers on your behalf). It lasted a little over a year and half and many people did make a lot of money fast. But what goes around comes around…

The Securities and Exchange Commission said it has shut down ZeekRewards. com, a $600 million online Ponzi and pyramid scheme that was on the verge of collapse and had raised money from more than one million customers.

Don Lapre: The Greatest Vitamin in the World classic affiliate marketing program that promised much more than it delivered.

In June, Lapre was indicted for 41 counts of conspiracy and fraud. The case involved the claims of about 222,000 people and approximately $52 million.

There have been literally hundreds, even thousands of other programs, companies and individuals shut down over the years. In June 2016, for example, just one FTC lawsuit named 10 internet marketers, 10 corporate defendants and 51 shell corporations for promoting how to get rich quick products and services. The websites tended to focus on getting government grants, health claims and various “make money” products.

Money Making Machine

Most people reading this blog should focus on money. This means you need to generate revenue for a firm, obtain some equity or generate profit from *your* company. No other options. We're going to outline a step by step process for the latter… Right here. Before we do that, however, we need to explain why no one will ever *teach* you to be rich. This includes us. We would never give away a 7 figure income. Will we help you start a career in investment banking for $150-250K a year? Sure. Hand over a real business opportunity? No.

Below is the outline:

1) Why no one will teach you to be rich

2) The basics of a business

3) How to do a basic test to determine if demand exists

4) How much does this process cost

5) How much will a small business spend in a year (screen cap included)

6) Revisiting money and time

7) Why you don't want to be a public figure

Lets jump in:

1) I Will *Teach* You Be Rich! As soon as someone makes this claim you should run. No one is willing to hold your hand through a real business venture. The person is a scammer and a con-artist. If he claims that he wants to help you get started what this really means is that he wants to obtain recurring revenue off of the sale. In short, you're going to end up paying a recurring fixed cost to line his pockets. It really is that simple.

Secondly, people who claim that they are teaching you to earn more income off of your career are usually doing you a disservice. How? The person is going to do everything in his power to get you to switch firms or negotiate higher pay based on market compensation. So you change companies or annoy a person high up the food chain because you're underpaid… Only to ruin your entire standing with the firm and restart the political process. This usually nets you a meaningless $20K a year that you should not care one bit about. This is every head hunter in the world. They are not your friends.

Finally, if the person is not trying to nab some fixed recurring revenue from you and he is not trying to snatch a fee by switching you over to another firm… He's likely a poverty mindset manipulator. The last angle, usually found on personal finance blogs, is to teach you how to scrimp and save to become rich. No one gets rich this way. While you run around looking to save an extra $200 a month, you feel like you learned something . So you keep going back… Over and over and over again… What do you learn through this process? You learn to be a cheap fool. You're teaching yourself that spending money is *bad*. Anyone who has made real money knows this is a terrible mindset. To make a lot of money… You must spend a lot of money.

So how do you know if you should buy the product or work with the person? Quite simple really. You do two things. You 1) buy products that provide actual actionable advice only and 2) you only work with people willing to commit a meaningful amount of time to the project (5-10 hours a week for at least 6 months). If you buy products that provide tangible value and actionable advice, you'll never be disappointed (assuming it works). Just make sure that the product doesn't teach you poverty nonsense such as: how to get rich off of your 401K, how to negotiate a 5% pay raise or how to save 25% on e-books.

Finally, if the person is willing to commit real time to you and your future… That is a real mentor. Practically everything else is nonsense. If they are not willing to provide tangible advice and they are not willing to invest in you (invest meaning time) move on.

2) The Basics of a Business: Now that we have saved you hundreds of hours of time with the five paragraphs above, lets take a look at what a real business is. A *real* business is something that makes money while you sleep.

It really boils down to this:

Step 1) Find a product that people will *pay for*. If they are not willing to pay for it then it is clearly a terrible idea. You either create a brand new product category that no one has heard of or you make edits to an existing idea. Simple example: if you find a way to make a new smartphone that is better than all of the existing products on the market, you'll make a lot of money. Alternatively, if you create a product that gets rid of the need for smartphones… You will make a lot *more* money.

Step 2) The assumption from step one is that the market is also large enough to generate income. Lets say you create a product that can teach Swahili to a person in less than 3 months. Great. How many people really need to speak Swahili? Not many. The addressable market is too small. Now if you can teach someone how to speak a major language (English/Spanish/Mandarin/French/German) in less than 3 months. You'll be swimming in money that can fill an ocean.

Step 3) So you have both a product that people will pay for and a large enough market to generate income. How much does the product cost? You need to be certain that there is a healthy margin here. If you know that the market will pay $100 for the product but the cost of creating the product is $90… You're simply wasting your time. Unless that $10 spread is going to be recurring when it is set up, you'll lose money hand over fist since miscellaneous expenses always arise.

The three steps above are all you really need to know before you even begin: 1) will people pay for this, 2) is the market large enough for me to spend my *valuable* time chasing, 3) is the margin structure healthy. If you can answer yes to all of these items, you're rocking and rolling.

Now… the obvious question is… how do I even know if step 1 works?!

3) How to Determine if Demand Exists: The beauty of the internet. If you followed the extremely basic and boiled down steps from above… you already know who you're targeting. Are you targeting people in their 50s? Are you targeting gymnasts? Are you targeting druggies and alcoholics? Who are you targeting. If you cannot answer this question you do not have an idea. You have a colossal waste of time on your hands.

Okay. Point taken you say. Lets get specific with an example then. You're targeting overweight men in their 30s who are looking to fix their weight issue. Good. Here is a step by step process on what you are going to do.

Step 1) Create a solid sales page (you did learn to sell correct? ). Create the sales page first and make sure that it is *perfect*. No errors on the sales page. Videos are a plus. Once that sales page is absolutely perfect, you move on to Step 2.

Step 2) Buy traffic. People who think that buying traffic is dumb … have never made a lot of money. Period. You buy traffic from your target group on Facebook, Google and many other mediums that we will never mention.

Step 3) See the conversion rate. For the extreme beginners… this means how many people purchased the product? If you buy 1,000 visitors and 25 purchased, your conversion rate is 2.5%. The standard is generally 3%.

Step 4) Recalculate your total costs and decide if the venture is worth pursuing. We titled the post money making machine for a reason. That is what you have created if the product works. The *only* equation that matters for a money making machine is right here:

Long term value of customer Cost of acquiring customer = Positive or Negative

That is all. Think about it this way… If you spend $10K a day to acquire customers… Does this mean anything? No. Who cares how much you spend. What matters is how much value you received from the customer over the long-term or the single point of sale. If your total expenses per day are $10K (marketing, producing the product etc.) but you generate $15K per day in revenue. Your profit is $5K per day. You should spend more.

Reiteration.

This is the only thing that matters to the business.

Your *total* costs simply needs to be lower than the revenue line. So long as this is the case, you spend like mad to get more customers to view your sales page. Beyond the extremely basic equation above, the real takeaway from this section is the following: stop trying to save . Spend as much as you like until profit margins turn break even.

4) How Much Does This Process Cost? Instead of giving you the non-sense answer of it depends we'll give you a real answer. If you're looking at a business that you believe can generate $2 million, the start up cost is usually around $50K. This is exactly why low level, high risk angel investment rounds come in at roughly $25K. They want a large portion of equity in exchange for covering half of the cost for you. There are millions of markets and the number can of course be larger or smaller.

If you spend less to start up… your addressable market is *usually* smaller. So on and so forth. It is impossible to give an exact cost breakdown but we'll go ahead and try.

1) $10K website design/sales page (20%). As you can see, by our awful blog design, this is not our expertise. If you want it done at an elite level, you need to hire a real designer. Get everything set up cleanly and if the product fails you'll have a template to use later. Just make sure this page is rock solid.

2) $5K demand check (10%). You start with a quick demand check before you even get started with your idea. If you're going in blind without even bothering to check for demand, you're playing with fire. With social media, Google and many other tools on the internet… You can drop $5K to make sure there is a potential market. You can easily spend $500 in a day without anyone batting an eye at Google, Facebook or otherwise.

3) $20-25K product manufacturing and design (50% or so). This is the bulk of the costs. You have to find a place to produce your product. Send samples back and forth. Commit to a minimum number of units etc. You will pull your hair out during this process.

4) $10K miscellaneous specific items for your company. Unlike the first three items, this is vague because it is literally impossible to know what you're making or where the problems will arise. There is one thing for sure however… problems will arise. Payment processing, quality control on the product, incorrect targeting etc. Something will go wrong and you'll lose at least $10K.

So there you have it.

The goal is always to clear 7 figures.

If you can ever clear $500K or close to 7 figures in a year (net) this qualifies as an *event*. Something most people will never see and something that personal finance blogs never talk about… Because their personal finance blog is the event. Tricking regular people into getting rich by increasing their salary (insert laughter) or saving $10 a month on a phone bill (insert more laughter). Moving on….

5) How Much Will a Small Business Spend in a Year: As stated in point one, no one is ever going to hold your hand through the whole process. If *real money* is at stake, the person teaching you is going to seize the opportunity himself. Business is cut throat. Get used to it.

With that said you'll see that the breakdown of expenses is extremely similar to what we recommend people in their 20s to do with their own lives. Once you are up and running, roughly 70% is spent on finding ways to generate more money (ie: buying traffic, advertising etc.).

Summary of 2017 Spending (click to enlarge):

70% on Business Services. If your business makes the majority of its income online… you're going to spend a ton on advertising, marketing and other such items classified as business services. We provided a few screen caps of basic Google/Facebook spending but there is a zero percent chance we're going to give the full breakdown. No one ever will. If they did, they would be giving away trade secrets.

22% Networking/Meetings. Even if you make your money online, you need to meet many new people (grow or die). This is true in every single business on the planet. In fact… this is a good way to see if someone matters to a company or not. Does he travel and spend a lot of time in restaurants/meetings. Pretty simple check. If he's always around, no one cares that he's around.

6% Merchandise supplies and other. No need to explain this category. This is typical junk that you need to buy to run your operations. Can't give exact details here. That gives away 1) identity and 2) the market. Not willing to do this.

4) For some humor, check out the 125 comments from retards and trolls we had to flag as spam. The idiots have arrived and we won't allow it =)

So there you have it, a basic snapshot of what you're looking at on a full year basis. We're not going to tell you what the margin structure is or anything like that. But. If you believe that someone would spend $1.03 million on business services/networking for fun or spend this much for tiny margins… You're bonkers.

Note: In the future we will do a live, real time and impossible to fake screen cap.

6) Revisiting Money for Time: We have covered this over and over and over again. But the question continues to reappear.

Don't trade time for money what do you mean?!

It means that you will never get rich off of an annual salary or hourly wage. Ever.

Even if you make $100 an hour and work 12 hours a day for life you're clearing $438K gross… Post tax this is roughly $284K. You're not going to be rich you're going to be well off. There is a difference. There is nothing wrong with being well off and settling there. Just remember. You will never, ever, ever be rich.

If you need a reminder of what money for time means… Go to advertising. It is the best example. You spend money to buy a person's time (potential customers see your product)

If you are investing your time on a specific platform… someone is making money. If you're on facebook, twitter, linked-in etc. You are the product. The simple point is that if someone spends a lot of time in a specific area… They can be monetized.

You're taught that marketing, advertising and sales is bad because… That's the last piece of the puzzle. A great product with no audience does not exist.

If a tree falls in a forest but no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? The answer is a resounding and absolute NO. If no one ever sees your product (the tree falling) it doesn't exist. Period.

Again you are told that salaries and hourly wages are better than commissions. Why? No one wants more competition. Especially not from someone who is bright. That is a nightmare. They want a slave.

With the main items out of the way… Lets assume you make it. Please read the below…

7) Why You Don't Want to Be a Public Figure: Since the vast majority of our readership is young or youngish, most are not rich enough to understand this. It is important. Once you reach a certain net worth, the last thing you want to do is become famous .

Fame is harassment from regular people. Wall Street Playboys

Regular people have nothing better to do with their lives than live vicariously through someone else. This is why celebrities go nuts. They are harassed every single day as people charge after their cars just to touch their shirt or skin. Lunatics.

If you are truly committed to becoming a public figure (like Mike ) you need to really understand what you are signing up for. We have no interest in it and wager that you won't either. Again. This is once you are financially free. Being harassed by regular people is no where near fun.

To cap off this extremely important section, it is best served with some lyrics and a video.

be a Lennon and a fan leave you brainless. All in the paper, gettin' buried by a neighbor. While all of your relatives spendin' all the money that you gave 'em, F*** it, don't save 'em… I don't wanna be famous, I just wanna be rich. 40 mil with some acres…

Concluding Remarks: So there you have it. For the long story short version here are the clear and concise bullet points, actionable steps and explanations in this post:

1) No one is going to hold your hand to obtain real money. If there is real money involved, the guy would go after it himself. If someone claims that they will teach you how to be rich. They are full of it. This is a great sales slogan but is far far far away from reality. No one can teach you. At most they can give you guidelines. Even then… Get a legitimate mentor who is willing to spend *real time* with you.

2) The basics of a business will always be the same. Find a product that people need (pain or pleasure, pain usually sells better: diet, skincare, get rich schemes) and drive massive amounts of traffic to the item.

3) Before you get all hyped up (a term used frequently by idiots) test the product first. Throw a few grand at the targeted audience and see if it is in demand or not. If people aren't willing to buy, move on. If people do buy… flood that market as fast as possible. Push as much traffic as possible until the long term value of the customer equals the cost of acquiring the customer. Then reassess. Remember, it's a money making machine as long as you are generating net income.

4) While it always depends . A typical answer for people who don't want to answer the question. It will cost roughly $50K to start a meaningful venture. This also explains why most private equity investments require a minimum of $50K to get started and $25K is generally the number for angel investing.

5) Similar to your 20s… 70%+ of your money is going to spent on making… more money. Grow or die. No other choice.

6) If you are never able to sell and never able to scale… you can become well off but you will NEVER be rich. You need to make money in your sleep to generate real wealth.

7) You don't want to be famous. You just want to be rich. Who cares about approval from regular people? Not you. If you must become public… Good luck and much respect from this side of the web.

One little extra piece of advice… When you get to your numbers… Learn to play dumb. Be extremely dumb. Seem harmless. Only go all out when you need to go all out.

Until then? You sit, you wait, you gather information.

When you *appear* to be following a person's advice… They like you. Works every time.

How to Get Rich Quick - NOT!

Home >> Making Money >> How to Get Rich Quick - NOT!

This article won't appeal to a lot of get-rich quick seekers and lazy people. And if that describes you, I hope you will at least appreciate the honesty.

I wrote this article because I got an e-mail from a gentleman today who read my success story and wanted to know how long it took me to make a full-time living online.

He hated his job and wanted to find something that will help him make money. fast. And trust me, this wasn't the first e-mail I'd received like this.

Another inspiration was a conversation in my forums that started with a thread about Google AdSense, but quickly turned into a great discussion about what it takes to succeed online.

16 best ways for getting rich

Way # 1: Remember, your dreams are the guidelines of your life and your personal trump cards.

Dream more and, of course, believe and imagine your dreams coming true.

People without dreams slowly lose their vitality and are of no interest to others.

Way # 2: Don’t stint compliments for your family, friends and even passers-by.

Come up to a lady in the street and tell her how beautiful her dress is, compliment a man for his matching tie – in one word, turn on your imagination and do good to people!

Believe me, it will come back to you, but with a triple pleasure. Just dare try it!

Way # 3: How to get rich? Work less for someone else and devote more time to your own business.

Remember, the more you work, the worse you live.

Why?

Because you don’t have time for your personal development and your own business.

Instead, all you have is work!

Am I not right? Do you want to tell me that after your real job you come back home (tired and annoyed, of course) and begin using your gifts and skills in some other field? And what about your children, washing dishes, doing all the household chores waiting for you.

But this is the reality. Don’t deceive yourself! Working must be worth it! Way # 4: Delve deeper into the philosophy of rich people – it often conceals a useful underlying message that can lead you to a great idea for your own startup!

Way # 5: Try answer these questions: «Who am I? » What is the sense of my life? What are my advantages comparing to others? What would I do if I had a chest full of diamonds?”

But, please, be honest, don’t evade the truth!

The passion and power of understanding your genuine sense of life are immeasurable.

After these revelations, you will easily answer the simple question “How do I become rich?”

Way # 6: Poverty emerges whenever you avoid responsibility.

How To Get Rich Quick

We live in an instant gratification society.

Fast food, prepackaged foods, wash-n-wear clothes, movies on demand, 24/7 news, instant access to information and instant product downloads.

Every where you turn there seems to be yet another EASY BUTTON.

But when it comes to building a business both online and offline just looking for the EASY BUTTON is enough to derail most (if not all) of your efforts.

The question:

How to get rich quick? is not based in reality.

Because there are no shortcuts. Not really.

Making a cut-n-stone decision to get in, get busy and get it done is the shortcut Your current business model (if others are making money) is the shortcut Copying a proven model for success is the shortcut

Of course you might get LUCKY…

and win the lottery, or cash in on a once-in-a-lifetime class action lawsuit or marry into money

…and have a rich relative leave you a pile of dough when they die.

But for most of us, the idea of getting rich quick is no more real than a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Bottom line?

Perhaps Gina Rinehart said it best (Gina is worth about $19 billion!):

You can't get rich without working hard, taking risks,

investing and reinvesting your profits.
