With knowledge comes power. It's what you do with that power that defines you. When I suggest to someone that they should think about educating themselves about a topic, I usually get resistance. The reason is most people think they have to go to college or school to get an education. While to get a degree, you do need to go to college, degrees don't always provide you with income.

I went to school for marketing. I graduated and used my degree for one year. During the time, I realized I didn't really care so much for marketing. While I still know how to do it and have a knack for coming up with ideas, I don't like the industry per se. It's not my thing. Main reason being is most places think sales and marketing are the same. They are not!

During my year in marketing, I realized I enjoyed doing things online like building websites, dealing with e-commerce, helping bloggers, and playing with coding. When I started my e-commerce business back in college, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't know how to code a single line of HTML, how to integrate two platforms, or a host of other things. Instead of giving up or just paying someone to do it, I slowly taught myself how to code. I hone my coding skills each and every day now and use them to help other site owners with their problems.

I didn't have to go back to college for this. I learned by doing. I made mistakes, but I soon learned how to fix them and that's where most of my knowledge has come from. I have taken time to teach myself knew skills in areas I want to be proficient in. I've taken courses online at places like Udemy . There is so much information on the web, that saying you can't afford to learn a new skill is no longer applicable. You don't need a degree to do something. You need the desire!

In today's world, knowledge can be obtained from a variety of places. You just have to know where to look. I've learned things just by reaching out to those who know what they're doing. You would be surprised to see how helpful some people are. There's no more room for excuses. There's only room for action!

If you want to make extra money. don't complain about the lack of time or knowledge. Instead, figure out where your time is being wasted and correct it. Use that time to increase your education in an area you want to pursue. Once you do that, you can then use your free time to hone your skills and earn extra money. I do this on a daily basis and many more do as well. Remember, there's a difference between dreamers and doers. Which one do you want to be?

You Can't Make More Time

Time is a finite resource. We know there are 24 hours in a day, 365 days in a year (not including leap year), and so on. We can't make an extra day out of nowhere. This means, instead of hoping for more time to do something, you need to focus on what you're currently doing with your time. I know many people, including myself, who work extra on the side.

I have a full-time job, but I also blog, run a business . and so forth. It's not because I know the secret to finding more time. It's because I know the secret to harnessing the time I do have and making the most of it. If you want to start earning more money, then take a good look at what you're currently doing with your time.

Do you spend most of it at a job?

Hang out at the local bar?

Where does your time go? This is the first step into understanding what you're actually doing. For myself, I used to spend a good amount of time in front of the TV. If I wasn't watching TV, I was playing video games. It consumed a lot of my time. It was a mindless activity that did nothing to advance my agenda of earning more.

Once I canceled cable . my extra income earning potential increased greatly. I now have more time to think about ways to earn more, use the time to make more, and enjoy the money I make. Just by removing cable from my life, I wasn't tied to the TV. While I still do have TV through some services, I don't focus on it. I don't come home and turn on the TV and sit down to watch. My priority has shifted from a mindless activity to an income-producing one.

The two biggest excuses I hear from people regarding making extra money is they don't have enough time or don't know how. I hear it day in and day out. I work too much now, I don't have time to earn more!

Yep, I know. Our lives are busy and we don't have a lot of time. The same goes for knowledge. If you don't know how to do something, do you just give up or try to figure it out? Guess what folks? Money doesn't grow on trees. You have to be willing to fight for it, struggle for it, and understand how to use it. Money is not a right, it's a privilege. If you want to earn more, you need to learn more!

If you're one of the many who brush off making extra money, because of a lack of time or knowledge, then I wan't to show you that you're looking at it all wrong. It's not about making more time to make money. It's about using the time you have more efficiently .

It's about taking the steps to learn something to create a better life or income stream. No one's going to just give it to you (except for the government!), you need to be willing to put in the work to earn more money.

The techniques and advice given to help you earn more money are all legitimate and they all work, provided you implement what you are taught. I am still on the path towards financial success (Read my Story ), but I have seen my efforts and the results thereof increase over the years. My current annual income from my online ventures is now in excess of R30'000 per year and growing. Note: this is money I earn from my Online Ventures Only!

The best way to look at your online venture is to see it as a business. A business where you are the boss and where you set your own working times. Like anything in life it may take time and considerable effort and a little start-up capital. You can get started with absolutely no capital, but having/allocating a little will definitely help. You can do this part-time to begin with and over time it could become your preferred method or only method of earning an income.

To earn money online requires time dedication. It requires some studying and some trial error, but it will all come together, if you implement what you learn correctly. Make use of the resources made available and don't simply buy into every money-making scheme, software package or training course you stumble upon. Throughout this website/blog I refer to various products, tools, training courses and the like, but it is up to you whether you want to purchase these or not. My recommendation does not necessarily mean that I make use of the product personally. Where such products are personally used by me, I will make mention of this fact.
