5. Work at a carnival or traveling fair. I did this when I was 13 years old; I traveled with the Bill Dillard Exhibition for a whole summer! I didn't make a lot of money, but had a fantastic time

6. Mow lawns and do yardwork

7. Do extra chores around your house

The reason why I never believed that you need money to make money is because I couldn’t understand where all the rich guys come from. At the Age of 26, I Wanted to Buy a Tim Horton’s

A few years ago, I was living in a small city in Montreal’s suburbs. This city was recently booming since there wasn’t much land available for new construction nearbyMontrealand one of the only spot remaining to buy a decent house at a fair price is where I used to live. It was a very nice city only 25 minutes away from downtown. The city is situated right beside 2 highways which makes it quite accessible. Near the highway exit going towards this city, there was commercial land for sale. The land was right on a corner and it was the first spot before entering the city (or last spot before leaving for the highway). I thought to myself: I should buy this land and build a Tim Horton’s. For US readers, Tim Horton’s is almost as popular as Starbucks in Canada. Mind you Starbucks coffee is a lot better than Tim’s! The place was perfect for a last stop for a coffee before hitting the road. It was also the right time as we were seeing new houses blooming all over the place.

Here’s the catch.

The land was $500K, the Tim Horton’s was another $500K and at 26 with barely 20K in my pocket… I was frustrated because I was convinced I had a great idea but was short on money. For me, it was obvious that we could make money from this commercial spot… but we needed money to make money. What was even more frustrating is that a year after I had my idea of buying the land to build a Tim Horton’s, someone else did buy the land… and did built a Timmy’s on it! I don’t have to tell you that this coffee shop is making a lot of money right now…

It has been well established that many of the money making methods promoted or sold online are considered scams. Some websites are selling training materials to a legitimate at home business, but doing it in an unethical way – claiming you’ll be immediately wealthy with little to no effort.

Others are just blatantly illegal – they make you believe that you’re signing up for an inexpensive guide or kit, and suddenly your credit card is hit with multiple charges totaling hundreds of dollars.

Fortunately, there are actual ways to earn money online from the comfort of your home. Some of them may not replace your day job, and the ones that can take lots of time and hard work to get up and running, but they do exist.

Making Extra Money Online

Not everyone trying to make money online is looking to “get rich quick.” Some people just need a little extra money to make ends meet, to help pay down debt, or to help boost their savings.

The most popular way to make extra money online is by taking online surveys. The reality is that there are many types of at home businesses which can earn people a livable income. Network marketing, internet marketing, making money through advertising on your website – all of these can technically provide you with enough money to replace your current day job. Using Money To Make Money

The term asset, in real estate, is one that is often misunderstood and readily ignored. Robert Kiyosaki, the famous author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, is on record as saying that your house is not an asset. While this may be true, using real estate in the right way can be a source of extraordinary gains. The richest people in the world are the ones that own companies, stocks, properties or even ideas. Many investors lament the fact that they do not have as much money as they think they should. This comes down to how they choose to spend their money and exactly what are they getting for every expense.

Every dollar you spend should be used to either make more money or to pay for services used that accomplish your desired goal. Spending $100 on a nice lunch with some drinks and appetizers may be a good way to spend a few hours, but it is a terrible waste of money. What are you getting for your money other than an expanded waistline? Your money and time are your two most valuable assets. If you waste one of them, you will be constantly stuck in the mud.

When you buy real estate, you are using your money to buy what is arguably an asset. If you use real estate for investment purposes, there is no doubt it is an asset instead of a liability. Once you take ownership, your goal then becomes to maximize the return on your investment either for the short term or at some point in the future. As simplistic as it sounds, regardless of how much money you start with, your goal as an investor has to be to get as great a return as you can for the money you have available.

You accumulate wealth much like you accumulate anything else you want to collect. You pick and choose which areas of the market you want to focus on and attack them with the financial means you have at your disposal. There can be the temptation to spend money you make on a property to treat yourself and to improve your quality of life above your means. Once you take that money away from your business, you can never put it back. From that point, you will be on the clock chasing that money and on to the next deal with reduced capital and leverage that you would have had.

Financial independence is not about how much money you make, but how much money you keep. One way to keep score of this is by the assets you accumulate. Leased cars, swimming pools and tickets to events should not be mistaken for assets. Real estate, fine art, mailing lists and companies are things you can tap into down the road to make your money. If you are not using money to make money, all you are doing with it is essentially wasting it.

Who Says You Need Money To Make Money?

Don't allow the seeds of doubt to rob you of the sunshine of growth.

The above quote came to me as I was writing one day and it has stuck with me. I really believe that doubt robs us of greater success. In the olden days, before the Internet, people assumed that in order to make money you must have it to begin with. Many of us grew up with the mentality that we could never be rich because our parents weren't rich. We were told to work hard all of our lives and retire to a nice sedentary lifestyle. Nothing wrong with that but life has changed. Today, most people have no job security. Here in the US, in 2016, unemployment is still hovering around 10% and in many countries of the world it is much worse.

People are finding that their rocks of stability such as jobs and pensions are no longer there. Hundreds of thousands have been laid off or will be laid off from jobs in the coming years as the world of commerce changes. America used to be an industrial nation. We used to manufacture products. Now, we produce services and import most of the items we use because it is cheaper. The result has been that we are more and more dependent on other countries to produce the goods we need to survive. Don't believe me? Where was your television made? Your microwave, your computer, your iPod, your clothes, your dog food. Yes, even your dog food for heavens sake is usually manufactured in some other country.

All of these changes have meant that people with initiative and creativity now make fortunes. People who can see a need for a new service or product and bring it to being. If you have a great idea for a new product you can partner with a company in Asia to manufacture it for you at a low cost and get it distributed here in the US by brokers or on QVC or HSN on television. You can create an infomercial and make a deal with TV stations to run your ad for free and they get a percentage of the profits.

The millionaire thinking is that you can start from scratch and still succeed because the most important part of the process is your way of of thinking and your commitment to success. Your ideas and creativity are where the money is.

The opportunities in this area have become vast. More and more people are looking for information to help them live better, longer, thinner, happier, and be more successful. This gives opportunity for people to write books, create CDs or DVD program and put up a website to promote their products. Today, you can create, host, and place on the Internet, a website for less than $15.00 a month. This means that anyone, or any business, can be up and running on the Internet in a matter of hours. You still have to promote your product or service but now you can do that through e-mail or flyers instead of spending thousands and thousands of dollars on a mail campaign that may or may not be successful.

If you are interested in starting your own business either selling a product or service, go your local library and borrow several books on those themes. The more research and investigation you do before you start, the more successful you can become. Ignorance is costly so avoid that by preparing and researching first. The information is free at your library and you will be miles ahead of your competitors because many of them don't keep up with what is happening in their industry.

Go to your local bookstore and you will find hundreds of books and audio programs to help you on your way to starting your business. The key is movement. You have to ACT and you have to start TODAY. Waiting for tomorrow means you don't have the passion yet that you will need to run a business. You need to be passionate about whatever path you choose and when you have that passion you won't want to hang around until tomorrow. You will get your buns in gear and start researching today.

In this modern world it doesn't take money to make money anymore. Now, all it takes is a great idea or passion to succeed. A willingness to share your experience with others. A desire to see people helped in whatever area you feel challenged to share about. Don't hold back. Don't allow the seeds of doubt to rob you of the sunshine of growth. Allow your mind and spirit to be open to new ideas and thoughts. Learn to think outside the box. Learn to be the one who has the ability to see what others don't see. Does it sound hard? It might but the more you apply yourself and are willing to learn, the more creativity you allow in to your life.

Surround yourself with positive people. Positive in their attitudes and positive in their desire for growth and success. You will feed off each other's positive vibes and also learn and grow in your knowledge and experience from being around them. It is far easier to succeed in business if you have the help of others. Remember; no matter how much knowledge you acquire there is always more to learn and the quickest way to do that is to learn from others experiences. By working with talented and knowledgeable people your business will grow faster and be more successful.

Join a mastermind group in your local area. Seek out like-minded people. A great site is Meet Up which shows you a variety of groups in your community that meet to discuss success, business, sports, cooking, meditation, or numerous other topics. Check it out. I am sure you will find some groups that will benefit you.

Every avenue of your success starts with your attitude. You have to believe in yourself and your abilities and talents. You have to know that you CAN and WILL succeed. You have to be the one who takes the first step, the first initiative to grow and expand. So if you haven't taken that first step take it today. You won't regret it.

Old Dog, New Tricks

Ever feel like an old dog? Like you can't learn anything new. You are too old, too set in your ways? Sorry, that doesn't cut it. Every dog can learn new tricks, even you. So pull up your bootstraps, slap on your glasses and start learning.

Too many people feel that age prohibits them from studying or going back to school or doing online courses. The people who reject this go on to climb mountains, start businesses, get a doctorate and make a difference in the world. You have to make sure that your mind or thinking process is not old but fresh and young. Successful millionaires don't grow old; they merely mature. That is their attitude to life so they can always adapt and acquire new knowledge. You must be the same. Don't allow old-fashioned thinking to rob you of the chance to grow as a person, develop new businesses, write a book, climb a mountain, or discover a cure for a disease. Nothing should be impossible in your thinking. Without that view of life you won't be able to accomplish much and you will sit at home watching TV with your pipe and slippers.

You must have a success mindset. That will help you motivate yourself to action and to development. Stop waiting for someone else to motivate you, they can't. Everyone has excuses–conscious or otherwise–about why they can’t (actually won’t) earn more money. A common excuse is, “I need money to make money”.

You and I know that’s a myth (you do know that’s a myth, right?), but most people take it as a truism.

A lot of people think they need tens of thousands of dollars to get in on a franchise, or put cash down for a rental property, or buy into some silly multilevel marketing scheme.

The fact is, there are plenty of ways to make money without the need for a pile of cash — as Chris Guillebeau’s recent book, The $100 Startup. covers. The first step is to realize that there are always multiple solutions to any problem, whether it’s making more money, building your retirement nest egg/strongbox, or bartering for broccoli.

Must-have tools for creating a business on the cheap are:

A bootstrapping mindset: How can you get or do something for free or extremely low cost? Again, creative brainstorming and flexible thinking will help you figure out how to accomplish a task on a shoestring. Check out some more specific bootstrapping principles to get you started. Small steps and a willingness to experiment: This is the iterative, lean startup approach, where you try something small fast, learn from it, and improve. What? Sometimes the first thing that comes to mind is some high-falutin’, expensive way. Dig deeper. Focus on exactly what the outcome is, and brainstorm all the crazy ways you could get to it. I guarantee you’ll find ways to get it done on the cheap. “But I don’t have any ideas for a business.” Try this: train yourself to look for problems. That’s right — look for problems throughout the day, every day. Jot them down in a notebook or in Evernote. Remember that every problem is an opportunity. not really, you need an idea whose time has come, and you need time to develop that idea. Even if it is some one else idea… When you have that clarity of thinking, you will be amazed at what you can achieve.

Now I can hear people every where saying I am cut right back to the bone, there is nothing else I can save. I can't find a room to put the pot, let alone find the pot to … well you get the idea. Look I know times are tough out there. I also know they are not getting better. If You want to get out from under you are going to have to do it for yourself I'm afraid, the old job dependancy is growing frailer and frailer. Wages in real terms are getting worse, and in reality the lower to middle income earners are getting less of the pie each week.

Business Ideas Make Money with No Money

The following is a list of several small side incomes you can make without much startup capital (or none at all). High school students, broke college students or anyone looking to score a little extra cash can take this advice. This list goes contrary to the saying It takes money to make money . I feel there are tons of ways to make money, but people never pursue them because they seem menial or not worth their time . Well here are a few things you can do to make quick cash without a formal business plan, investors or anything of the sort.

1.) Sell Water. That's right. Buy a 24-pack of bottled water, ice it, then sell on a hot day. Your $3.00 investment has turned a $21 profit in a small amount of time. This may seem like something only a bum would do, but trust me, you will learn more from this experience than in any marketing class. Water can be substituted with soft drinks, hot coco etc.

2.) Mow Lawns. If you don't have a lawnmower, borrow one. Go around a neighborhood offering your service. This business works particularly well for younger kids. Live in a cold area? They substitute lawn mowing with snow shovelling. You can ALWAYS get people to pay for this by lowering your price. Surprise people by offering to shovel a driveway for $3 if you are having trouble finding business. Some money is better than none, and you get plenty of excersize!

3.) Powerwashing. Rent, buy or borrow a simple power washer and clean driveways and houses. Driveways will take 30-40 minutes depending on size. The real goldmine here is cleaning houses. This job will fetch over $100 and requires only a telescoping ladder and a bit more risk. For younger kids, their 30-40 minutes spent power washing a driveway will fetch about $20-$30. The trick here is to start off one house at a low price, then pitch to the surrounding houses showing off how clean their neighbors driveway is. Getting a company to hire you is even better. Gas stations, property management companies all need power washing services, but this may require some heavier duty equipment. Power washing can be done on any lazy Saturday afternoon where you are doing nothing better. Take before/after pictures and show off your work during your door-to-door sales pitch.

4.) Accounting. Know accounting? Then become a part-time book keeper for a small business. These part timers get anywhere from $14 to $22 an hour for their services. Accounting CAN be self-taught, but a class is recommended. I know two accountants who make very nice livings working out of their garage. I see ads in the paper looking for part time book keepers all the time. You can educate yourself or hone your knowledge for free with books from the library.

5.) Get a job. Duh. If you feel totally inadequate to take a little risk and make money for yourself, or you need a more steady income, just get a small job. Even though I make enough money on the side, I still hold a job for the added income. If you are not picky about your job and just need some quick income, work at a coffee house, or in fast food etc. Get a job as a janitor, helping hand etc. These areas are always looking for non full time employees. You can get hired very quickly if you apply to those types of positions. Jobs are great, but you must obey the orders of others, often perform duties you may dislike and revolve around someone else's schedule. The other ideas on the list give you more freedom to wheel and deal as you please.

6.) Computer Cleanup. If you are decently computer savvy, charge a small fee for cleaning up slow running computers. My old 800Mhz Dell desktop can still outperform most personal computers that are four times as fast because I keep in squeaky clean of viruses, spyware, adware etc. Go door to door asking Is your computer annoyingly slow? Got crap popping up on your screen all the time? Well I can help you solve that problem in 20 minutes. I figure you will get quite a few people who would pay $10 $20 (Or way more!) for your few minutes of service. Simply install all Windows Updates on their computer, install Google Pop-Up Blocker, download and run the new Microsoft Anti-Spyware program and BAM….more efficient computer. I do this for friends all the time, and they can never thank me enough for saving them the frustration of a brand new computer that runs painfully slow because of spyware. I see a huge market for this service. This is a GREAT way for a computer savvy student to make some quick ca$h. Total costs for software = $0.00. Every program I mentioned was 100% free. Who says it takes money to make money??

Of course these are only a selectfew ways to generate small amounts of cash. These ideas will most likely not get you rich, but making cash is better than sitting around and being idle! Also, the experience you gain from trying out these ideas is more valuable than anything learned sitting in a classroom.

I bet you have heard that before right? Normally the poor mans excuse why he stays poor. If You stay poor you throw away the right to make your lifestyle choice.

The most common result of that phrase being thrown at people … You need money to make money. is that people then assume that by leveraging some one else's money … borrowing, and chucking that at the problem you can get round the lack of funds…Nothing could be further from the truth…

If You have money then sure use it, but honestly I would strongly recommend that you do not borrow. You will only shift the problem, and give some else the luxury of lifestyle choice. using your repayments!

Work hard and work smart. save what you do have by going without, and amass a little capital of your own, start with that… make money on line. it is achievable, you need a system, determination, and a goal. Why not design your lifestyle choice.
