START YOUR HOME BUSINESS ONLINE-TRACK WEBSITE PERFORMANCE
You should not build a website to sell products and then not bother to try and track its performance otherwise it is just a waste of time and you will never know how good your website is doing and whether your hard work has paid off.
That's pretty silly isn't it?
Yet, many people are doing just that. They will go to all kinds of trouble to build their websites and then, just leave them there thinking that they have done enough to keep people coming. They are the kind of people who are also more likely to think - build something first and people will come. Fantastic phrase that may be, but that doesn't work in reality especially in online internet marketing. You have to build, test, deploy, refine and then repeat that cycle again and again.
Luckily for us there are free tools to help track performance and one of the best is Google Analytics. It is not hard to install and it comes with different kinds of reports and functions to allow you to track your website or different parts of your website. Google also provides good information on how to use it. Analytics will provide metrics such as number of visits, average time on site, bounce rates, traffic sources, keywords used, and so forth.
Another tool that you may be able to use is Google webmaster central which provides all the tools for webmasters to allow them to diagnose problems with indexing and crawling and so forth. Use these tools to diagnose how effective your website content is in promoting your products, how your website is accessed by the Google search engine and many more.
Online marketing is more of an art rather than a science so feel free to experiment and improvise in ways to not only drive traffic to your site but to ensure that they stay there for as long as they can and hopefully buy your products.
