How do I make money online? Making money online requires quite a bit of hard work initially, but if you can find a niche and get a little lucky, you too might join the ranks of people who call a hammock in Fiji "the office". If you don't have much money to get started, building an online business is a great option. Web businesses today can be created less than a day with just a few hundred dollars. Take it from me, I launched CelebrityNetWorth. com for around $400 as a hobby and today it is my full time job! So sit down, read this article and make it your new years resolution to be making money online on January 2nd, 2017.

Here is a simple list to use in order to set your goals for online success:

Understand your target audience. Work hard. Be organized. Create content or hire others to create it. Promote your website using search engine optimization (SEO), social media and link building. Set realistic expectations for success. Diversify your ways to make money online. Set your website apart from others.

How Do I Make Money Online?

Find Your Target Audience

First, decide which industry you are going to invest in online. Do some homework before you plunge headlong into creating a blog. How much interest is there in your chosen topic? See if there are popular search engines keyword terms related to your site's topic.

For example, let's say there are two identically designed sites, but one is about "women's jeans" and the other is about "aircraft manufacturers." Since more people search everyday for women's jeans, there's a potential to receive more traffic from Google with a site dedicated to that topic. Figure out what people are searching for online that you can write about and you are on your way.

Hard Work, Organization and Content

Succeeding online is going to take hard work to achieve success. Frankly there is no easy way of getting around this factor, unless you have a big budget and hire someone to create your content for you. Keep this in mind: doing all the work yourself means you will have less time to promote your website.

Being extremely organized helps. Decide how often you want blog posts or new content to appear. A minimum is weekly, more often is even better. Create original content on a scheduled basis yourself or hire someone to write the content and post it for you. Finding someone reliable who will work long term for you may be a challenge. Seek someone who is looking for long term blogging work, find the standard of current blogging pay, then pay a slightly higher rate to keep your blogger happy. If someone does the work for you, be organized by having all the information you need available to give to the person blogging for you.

Search Engine Optimization and Link Building

To ensure success, add search engine optimization to your blog or website. Add individualized optimization to each of your website pages. Use WordPress All-in-One SEO Pack plugin to optimize your blog posts and homepage. Add Google Analytics code to your blog or website so you can track your traffic coming into the website.

Diversification and Long Term Goals

Don't count on increased traffic only for your website success. Integrate banner ads from services like Google AdSense to help generate income as you grow your business. Making sales from ads on your website or blog will help you make money in the beginning and over time as traffic increases.

Think long term and create more than one website or blog to earn you income. Choose topics your online audience will find interesting or will provide them with information they need. Blog pages are quickly picked up by the search engines, so consider this option as you build your empire of websites. Realize it may take a year or years to make a decent income from your online businesses.

Set Your Website Apart From Others

Study your competitor's websites and blogs to get a sense of who you are competing against. Links pointing to your competitor's website may also work for your own website. Figure out what makes your competitor's website special and find a way to present your content in a unique way as well.
