1. Sell Unwanted Items
Perhaps the easiest way to make money is to sell items from around your home that you no longer need. It usually doesn't take too long to find some possibilities. There are a large number of ways you can go about selling your unwanted items. You can have a garage sale, use Gumtree or my current favourite is to list it in a Facebook group. Facebook groups can be a very quick way to make money. Simply search for a buy/sell/swap Facebook group in your area, join and list your items.
For extra cash, you could consider doing the next point while the items are listed to sell.
2. Rent out your Items
A more novel way to make money from your unused items is to rent them out. This way you can keep making money from them. It is also a great option if you have items you don't need right now (eg baby equipment) but will need again in future. On rentmine. today. you can rent out anything you can think of so don't feel like it needs to be something big. It can be anything from some outdoor chairs to formal wear to kids' toys or musical instuments. Looking through their site is a great way to be inspired.

4. Visit a Pawnshop
Pawning an item basically means selling your item to a pawn shop temporarily with the option to recover your item once you have paid back the amount they gave you plus any interest, fees and charges. Often pawnshops will also just buy your items outright or give you a cash loan without securing it with an item.
If you want to just sell your item, selling it at a pawnshops can be a very easy way to make money. However, be warned that you will usually get less money than selling it yourself to a private buyer using a method discussed above. The fees and charges on any loan can also be quite high so this should really be a last resort if you really require the money fast.
5. Sign up to the Nielsen Mobile/PC Panel
One of the easiest ways to make money fast is sign up to the Nielsen's Mobile Panel or PC Panel. For a smartphone/tablet, all you have to do is sign up for an account and download the app that's it. This app tracks how you use your phone for their research, but none of your information is sent to third parties so your privacy is not compromised, but the app can make your phone a bit slower.

6. Cut back your Costs
Another easy way to make money is to cut back your costs. Look around your house and at your budget, what extras do you have that you don't use or don't really need? Think about things like Foxtel, a home phone, whether your mobile phone plan could be lowered, whether you really need to buy coffees at a cafe or if you can ride a bike sometimes instead of using a car. There is just about always something you could cut back.
7. Scan your Shopping
Believe it or not, but you can actually make some extra money just by scanning everything you buy. You just need to sign up for Neilsen's Shopping Panel. You will then receive a scanner and you need to scan all items you buy for your household.
In return, you get points which you can redeem for gift vouchers. Please be aware that this doesn't pay actual cash but there are a range of gift vouchers you can choose from so it's nearly as good. As an added bonus, your input also gets to influence what products find their way into shops.
8. Sell Photos to Stock Websites
Do you like taking fabulous photos? Then this option could be good for you. Many sites will buy your photos, usually offering a commission on every sale. They do need to be of a very high quality. 9. Join a Focus Group
One of the quick ways to make money is to contact a market research company and join a focus group. Focus groups run regularly and it is not usually hard to find one that will be run in the next week or two if you live in a big city. These usually pay about $60-100 for an hour and a half and you are given cash on the night. The downside is that you are usually only allowed to do one every 6 months or so. They are usually at a set venue but they will sometimes come to your home or allow you to do it over the phone. We recommend Research Recruiters as a place to start.

If you don't want the commitment of a house mate, it is very easy to rent out a spare room or even your couch on a short term basis using services such as Airbnb. If you are good at sewing and crafts and wondering how to make money quickly, start selling your crafts, sewing and handmade jewellery. There are many good ways to do this from getting a stall at the local market to selling via Facebook or Etsy. Tutoring is a great way to make some extra money quickly especially if you are good at subjects such as maths. You can even teach English as a foreign language online easily or be available for people to practise conversation with you via Skype. There are many sites where you can advertise as a tutor and you can also advertise in places such as school newsletters.

If you need money right now, log into all your reward accounts, such as Fly Buys, credit card rewards, frequent fliers, etc and see if you can get any vouchers. They do not usually give you cash, but if you can get a supermarket voucher, you can use it to buy your groceries and use your grocery money as extra money. There are plenty of odd jobs that you can do for people for money such as painting, fixing a cupboard door or helping someone pack or move. You do not necessarily need any skills. Think creatively and you will come up with something you can do. There are also lots of places you can advertise your services online. You should also think about who your potential customers are and the best way to reach them. For example, you could advertise at a seniors club. Odd jobs are usually paid by cash straight after you do the job so it is another way to get paid quickly.

You may be wondering how to make quick money with betting without taking a huge gamble, but that's only if you haven't heard of matched betting. In this form of betting, you basically make two bets, one for some event to happen (such as horse 3 to win) and one against the event happening (horse 3 does not come first). You make the bet at such odds that no matter which event occurs (whether horse 3 wins or not), that you end up with more money than you spent betting in the first place. The work is generally poorly paid but it is one of the quickest ways to get started earning money online. You are paid into your Amazon account as soon as the work is approved. However, there have been reports that it's difficult for Australian workers to be approved to use the site.
21. Become a Micro Worker
One of the fast ways to make money is to use this site to complete small jobs for money. It is similar to Mechanical Turk in both the jobs offered and the fact that the pay is very low. However, the jobs that are specifically for Australians do pay a bit better. In fact, some jobs just involve liking a Facebook post or tweeting something and pay up to US$1 which is not bad for a few minutes effort. Once you have done at least US$9 worth of work, you can have the money transferred into your PayPal account. I was able to make $20 in about the first 30 minutes after joining this site, although then I had exhausted the best paying jobs for that moment.

There are many sites such as Freelancer where you can earn money basically immediately. There are many different jobs on here that require a large range of skill sets. You do not need to have a profession to start making money this way. If you can write decent native English then writing is an option or you can become someone's virtual assistant, do data entry or internet research. There are also programming jobs, accounting jobs, design jobs… The list goes on and on.

Many online shops and services will pay you a referral fee if you get someone else to sign up.
