I just started dabbling in this line of work. It's basically local online marketing for business. What you do is find local business in your area that lack web presence, convenience them that you can help, and build them a website.
You will need some knowledge of building websites and SEO tactics to get them ranked high in Google, but you would be surprised how easy this is to get involved in, especially if you live in a smaller town.
