For most of the legitimate survey companies you will accrue points each time you participate in a survey and then when you get enough points you'll be able to swap it for money.
There is always a chance that you will never quite reach that critical milestone and have ended up wasting your time.
You never know how many surveys you will qualify for each month and you may find that you can only do a couple in that time.
If you are already working from home and have the time then this may become an extra income earner but it is not wise to pin all of your hopes on it.
It will take time before you do get paid, sometimes several months so this should be seen as a long term strategy.
Companies that run surveys normally do so across a broad spectrum of people of different sex, relationship status, age, education and income bracket. This is just how the research is done but it also means that there may just not be many surveys available in your demographic.
