If you can't get hold of any Emeril, you should also look out for gold and aluminium deposits that are littered across planets. Gold tends to be either in large golden stones or golden shards similar to the Plutonium shards.
Both gold and aluminium can fetch tidy profits when you trade them in at Galactic Trading points – just make sure you're making a profit (indicated by a green plus sign next to the resource in the UI).
