Can I end my binary options contract before expiration?

Yes. Although binary options trading is also called ‘all or nothing’ trading, there are things a trader can do if they suspect their contract is going to expire with the option out of the money. In most cases, the trader sells their option, usually at a reduced price, and puts that money immediately into an option with a better chance of earning a payout. The trader will still lose money when selling a depreciating option in most cases, but this can help them to cut their losses and lose less money in the long run. Many binary options change hands several times before their expiration. As in the stock market, rapid buying and selling is the norm.

Some binary options traders earn money simply by buying and selling binary options at favorable prices, rather than waiting until the expiration date. This is a valid strategy, although it can be more complicated than simply purchasing a put or a call on a given asset.
