If, like myself, you are interested in charting your own course through life, you soon realize you won't have a ship to sail on if you don't find some way to earn a living. I didn't want to go back into corporate America and I didn't want to take a low paying job that would leave me so exhausted I couldn't work on one of my novels, so I asked myself the same question a lot of your are doing now. How can I earn money online?
While there are a lot of ways to make money online, I'm only going to go over a few of them, so you can see the types of work available. I suggest you purchase of couple of inexpensive eBooks if you want to learn about the wealth of opportunities, since there are too many to list them all.
Working for a service like Amazon Turk.
Companies like Amazon Turk. pay users small amounts of money to do tasks a computer cannot do. Most tasks are simple, such a liking a Facebook post, writing a short description of a product or doing surveys. The majority don't pay very well and you have to do a lot of them to unlock the higher paying ones. If you read my last post, you know that Amazon recently rejected my application, so I don't have first hand experience working for them, but I have read a lot about it.
While most people don't seem to earn very much, others seems to have figured out how to earn decent money on Turk and some of Amazon's competitors.
If you get rejected by Amazon, I suggest you look at RapidWorkers. Microworkers. and Clickworker. which all offer similar work.
Writing
If you are a budding writer or want to be, there are numerous writing opportunities on the web. There are a lot of web sites out there and most of the smaller ones, as well as some large ones, need to people to write content for them. Pay varies greatly, with less skilled writers earning significantly less than those with more experience.
Most of the sites will test your aptitude before offering you work, but there are a number who will pay less skilled writers a lower price per page, which is a great thing. There is nothing better than being paid to learn a new skill.
Some of the companies I suggest you look at are Article Bunny. Upwork, and WriterAccess. All have good reputations in the industry.
User Testing
One of the more lucrative ways to earn money is user testing. Companies will pay you to navigate around their sites, test links and give your opinions. The reputable sites pay between $5-$15 dollar per survey, which take from 5-20 minutes to complete.
In order to do this, you must have a decent computer that won't slow you down, high speed internet access, a good microphone and sometimes even a video camera. It's also helps if you are fluent in English.
