AnyConnect without a profile (Most Common)

1. The employee will install the VPN AnyConnect software on their home computer by going to their browser and enter http://vpn. fsu. edu. Hit Enter Key.


2. Next, enter your FSUID and Password. This will open you up to the VPN service menu.


3. Find the AnyConnect link in the middle of the page, click on AnyConnect to install the software. It is a self guided install.


4. Next check your home computer to make sure that you have enabled remote connection. If this is not allowed, you will not be able to connect from home or on the road to your work computer. The follow demonstrates how to turn on remote connection. Click on Start > Control Panel > Click on System. In Windows XP, click the Remote tab and then select the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer check box. In Windows Server 2003, click the Remote tab and then select the Enable Remote Desktop on this computer check box. Click OK.


5. After you've installed AnyConnect software and enabled remote connection, REBOOT your computer!


6. Go to your Start Button>Select All Programs>


7. Select Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client


8. Enter in "Connect to" - http:/vpn. fsu. edu


9. Enter your FSUID and password.


10. Click Connect button.


11. Go back to your Start Button>Select All programs>Select Accessories>Select Remote Desktop connect.


12. When menu appears, enter your work computers IP address. Also, if you have access to more FSU resources, click on the down arrow, select Browse for more which views a list of available computers on the domain. You may or may not have access to these resources. Try clicking on it and see if you have access. If not, talk with your supervisor and IT staff about special access. If no one in your area can help, please enter a Service Desk ticket and enter the information on what FSU resource(s) you are unable to connect.


13. Click Connect. You are now using the VPN Services
