So it is said that 97% of all people who join a network marketing company will fail! I am here to dispel this myth with facts. First off I would challenge the term "FAIL," do people really fail at network marketing or quit? OK, so I hear you already, so what's the difference you ask? Let me answer that through a simple definition of the two words, Fail vs quit;
1) Fail - as taken from Websters - to fall short of success or achievement in something expected, attempted, desired, or approved: The experiment failed because of poor planning.
2) Quit - to cease from doing something; stop. Generally to quit is to stop without cause.
For me the distinct difference is this; to fail is to follow a set plan, to follow through completely with that plan with no other options and not receiving what was expected. Quitting is to set a plan or not, not follow through and to stop without giving your plan a fair opportunity and not receiving what was expected.
Let me make a comparison and some clarifications, some may not like it but you can sugar coat it anyway you want, Network Marketing / MLM is a SALES career! Yep a Sales Career, call it what you will, relationship marketing, magnetic marketing, etc. it is still sales, done in a consultative way not a hard close way, it is my opinion that you get better results. OK now as far a comparison...
Real Estate and Real Estate related services, ie. Mortgages Brokers - Sales positions, all consultative in nature... How many people go out spend a considerable amount of money to get trained and licensed yet either quit or fail, my guess it may not be 97% but I would guess that it's pretty darn close to 80%. This goes for most any sales position, ie. Stock or Commodities broker, Insurance sales, door to door, telemarketing, the list goes on seemingly forever.
So the point I am making is this, MLM / Network Marketing is a viable career option that provides the luxury of working from home on your own schedule, something important for many people, stay at home parents, people with limited disabilities and many others.
Here's the thing's for which to watch;
1) Promises of Automated systems that promise to build your downline, in 10 years I have yet to see one that is nothing more than a gimmick.
2) Promises of Immediate financial gain, be prepared to commit to a one year plan, on the way there if you follow your plan the rewards will be greater than you could hope.
3) Uplines that promise that you're getting in at the right time and they will feed you there spill over!, believe me when I tell you, unless they have the right system in place you'll be lucky to get one sign up by spill over!
There are many more but for the sake of brevity I will stop there.
Hope this helps in your decision to become a successful Network Marketer.
